DIY-ing

This weekend I am headed to see my cousin, Lu, who just moved into a new house in Blowing Rock, NC. One of Lu's friends put up pictures of all the decorations she had made for her home and I texted my cousin and let her know we needed to copy them this weekend!

I am a huge fan of DIY (do it yourself). I think if you can buy it, you can probably make it for yourself. From printable's at Christmas time to banners at wedding and rehearsal dinners - if there is a way to DIY something I will try to find it! A lot of times the DIY was just the cost of the paper and the ink to print! We did all our paper for the wedding on our own and seriously spent what half the cost of the Save the Dates I saw online would have been (this was for the Save the date, the programs, the invitations etc.)

For this rehearsal dinner I 'assisted' with this past weekend I also did all the signage and table tents etc. to carry on the fish 'theme' from the invitations. I am a sucker for everything matching (if you notice in all the above images the map that is used was actually our wedding invitation that James designed!) and love when it looks like cohesive - including font!

Lu has a great Pinterest presence so I am sure she is ready to put me to work while I am there! She is getting married in September and we want the house to be just perfect as she starts her married life! She is loving all things burlap (honestly who isn't?!) so here are some of the things we might be making this weekend! Can't wait!
